New Mini Alternative Investment Fund Managers Law in Cyprus

On 3 July 2020, the Cypriot Parliament passed and brought in to force the Mini Alternative Investment Fund Managers Law creating a regime for the regulation and licensing of sub-threshold alternative investment fund managers based in the jurisdiction. Prior to the enactment, sub-threshold AIFMs were not independently subject to licensing in the Republic of Cyprus.

CSSF’s weekly questionnaire - Investment Fund Managers

On 9 April 2020, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) announced the launch of a new weekly questionnaire to be completed by Investment Fund Managers. The objective is to continue ongoing supervision of the investment fund sector during the current period of market turbulence and to provide the CSSF with weekly updates on financial data (total net assets, subscriptions and redemptions). The form is to be completed by IFMs established in Luxembourg or in other European/non-European countries and managing at least one UCITS, AIF and/or any other UCI (not qualifying as AIF).
