Harneys is delighted to have contributed the BVI Chapter of the Chambers Global Practice Guide on International Arbitration 2019, with input from Andrew Thorp, Stuart Cullen, Peter Ferrer and Paula Gibbs.
The guide is authored by Gary Born and Dharshini Prasad of Wilmer Hale. It provides expert legal commentary on key issues for businesses. The guide covers the important developments in the most significant jurisdictions.
The Chapter highlights the BVI Arbitration Act’s progressive approach to arbitration, the BVI’s accession to the New York Convention and the BVI International Arbitration Centre’s Rules which together with the pro-arbitration stance of the BVI Courts combine to position the BVI as a worthy contender for choice of seat for international arbitrations with Caribbean and Latin American parties.
The Harneys team are experienced advocates in international arbitration having advised on arbitrations under the ICC,LCIA, HKIAC, SIAC, JAMS and UNCITRAL Rules. They regularly advise on all aspects of enforcement and interim measures in support of arbitration.
