Vicky Lord and Calamus Huang named A-List lawyers by China Business Law Journal
Harneys is delighted to announce that China Business Law Journal (CBLJ) has named Vicky Lord, Shanghai Managing Partner; and Calamus Huang, Shanghai Corporate Partner, on their A-List 2022 as two of China’s Elite 100 Lawyers (Foreign lawyers), for the third and first year respectively.
The A-List recognises the top 100 elite foreign lawyers in China, based on extensive research by CBLJ. Clients at a wide range of Chinese and international companies, law firms, as well as other organisations nominate their most valued lawyers from which the candidates are selected.
Vicky Lord heads the China Litigation, Insolvency and Restructuring team. Acting in the most complex and highest value cases, she serves Chinese clients in their international litigation with a focus on BVI, Cayman Islands, Bermuda, and Cyprus disputes. She is well-known in the market for her success in shareholder disputes, winding up petitions, take private s238 litigation, and company side share appraisal actions. She regularly advises companies on complex risk and contentious IPO and equity financing scenarios for PRC, HK and US-listed companies.
Calamus Huang, heading Harneys’ transactional offering in China, advises on the full gamut of cross-border, multi-jurisdictional corporate and banking matters, as well as funds formation. She has particular expertise on initial and secondary public offerings (including listing of SPACs), private and public M&As (including going-private transactions and de-SPACs), joint venture, reorganisations and restructurings, establishment and structuring of private equity funds as well as their regulatory compliance and downstream transactions. Her major clients include well-known private equity and venture capital funds, listed and private companies, multinationals, and onshore law firms.
