Harneys partner Jonathan Addo will speak at the 12th Annual C5 Fraud, Asset Tracing & Recovery Conference in Geneva which is being held from 15-16 March 2018 at Hotel President Wilson, Geneva.
Jonathan will speak as part of a panel on a session entitled “Fair Hearings or Quick Ones? Is Independence a Charade?” Panellists also include Richard Millet QC, Essex Court (UK) and Paul Gully-Hart, Schellenberg Wittmer (Switzerland). The panel will review:
- when it’s not just the parties who are dishonest: Strategies for dealing with experts who are biased or dishonest;
- arbitrators who are too squeamish to find fraud;
- judges who don’t provide fair hearings?
- when the expert’s conclusions contradict the client’s case: the illusion of independence or hiding behind?
