Harneys Goes Green Day

On Friday 15 March we held our first annual Harneys Goes Green Day. #TeamTeal organised a group of green-minded local businesses to come to the office and promote their good works. @green_vi_bvi, who we currently partner with on our recycling initiative, brought a team of experienced environmentalists to discuss the many great green ingenuities that they are working on across “Natures Little Secret”. @goodmoonfarmbvi, one of the many organic farms working towards being a sustainable, eco-friendly, food supply chain for the BVI, brought in samples of their freshly picked veggies. @ecsoapco came with an impressive line of environmentally sound, bath and beauty products made from ingredients sourced from local farmers. AES, represented by David Penn and his Nissan Leaf, extolled the joys of never stopping for gas, or needing an oil change, being able to recharge the battery by coasting down one of Tortola’s hills, all whilst creating zero emissions in this eco-friendly electric car. Last, but not least, A Taste Of India laid out a sumptuous vegetarian feast that was delicious!

Our hope is that the staff of Harneys will now be more inspired to shop locally and shop with an environmental conscience.

Christmas Jumper Day

Christmas Jumper Day

Harneys London CSR Committee was busy over the holiday season raising money and donating to different charities. 14 December was Christmas Jumper Day in support of Save the Children.

On 21 December we sponsored the annual Whipps Cross Hospital (which is part of the Barts Charity) Christmas party for the children in the oncology ward. We were so honoured to be a part of this special event once again.

Our London offices also collected and donated food to FareShare.org which is the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger.
