The use and regulation of artificial intelligence offshore: An emerging legal landscape
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming industries globally and financial services is not exempt. In this article, we look at developments in the UK Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies focussing on the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands, which both serve as major international financial centres. As financial services businesses look to the future, the need to embrace AI becomes important, and all international centres, including the BVI and the Cayman Islands will need to consider the question of how AI will be regulated and the impact of that regulation on day-to-day business operations.
